Join us for an exciting exploration of the Castles and Gardens of Normandy. Thanks to the mild Gulf Stream that warms Normandy’s shores, and the rich fertile land, it’s no surprise that this green agricultural region – famous for its dairy produce – is ideally suited to the cultivation of beautiful gardens. Accompanied by our expert, bilingual guide we’ll explore historic castles, formal French gardens, innovative contemporary new-comers and personal gardens created with exceptional care.

Our tour meets at the Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Hotel and we travel north to Normandy for our first visit to Claude Monet’s iconic garden at Giverny. We have time to explore the house, inspirational garden, Museum of Impressionism and have lunch (independent).
In the late afternoon, we check into the 5-star Cures Marines Hotel & Spa in the heart of the seaside town of Trouville-sur-Mer with its ‘belle époque’ charm. Dinner in the hotel (included).
Saturday 20th June
This morning we stop at Beuvron-en-Auge, a gorgeous village with half-timbered cottages.
From here we continue on to the moated fairy-tale Château de Boutemont. This picturesque castle is surrounded by a series of garden rooms with a reflecting pond filled with water-lillies. We have lunch on arrival (included) and then meet the owner for a tour of the 12-acre gardens.
We return to Trouville-sur-Mer where your evening is at leisure for dinner (independent).
Sunday 21st June
This morning we travel westward to visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and the Omaha Beach memorial.
Later we make a stop at Château D’Audrieu where we have lunch (included) and time to stroll through the attractive gardens.
In the afternoon we enjoy an exclusive visit to Château de Brécy, a richly ornamented Italian style garden elegantly laid out over four terraces with a private chapel. We enjoy a tour of the gardens before returning to our hotel where your evening is at leisure (dinner independent).
Monday 22nd June
This morning we begin with free time in the delightful town of Honfleur to explore its ancient harbour, medieval streets and impressive timber church. There is time for lunch at one of the many charming cafes and restaurants (independent).
In the afternoon, we head to Étretat on the Alabaster Coast with its unusual rock formations. Here we visit the unique Étretat Gardens, an experimental, avant-garde garden where art and nature meet.
We return to the hotel for dinner (included).
Tuesday 23rd June
After check out we head to one of the most impressive gardens in France, the Baroque masterpiece of Le Château du Champs de Bataille. The castle and estate have been restored with no expense spared by designer, Jacques Garcia.
We enjoy a tour of the vast formal gardens with time to look inside the château with its eclectic treasures followed by lunch (included).
In the afternoon we check into the 5-star Hotel de Bourgtheroulde in the heart of the historic city of Rouen where your evening is at leisure for dinner (independent).
Wednesday 24th June
Today we spend the day in the fascinating historic village of Gerberoy which is known for its wonderful gardens and display of roses. We begin with a guided walk through the village making a stop at painter, Henri Le Sidaner’s, former garden.
We then have lunch (included) before exploring Le Jardin des Ifs which is home to a monumental collection of sculpted yew trees, some over 350 years old. The garden is located in the historic Governor’s house.
We return to Rouen where your evening is at leisure for dinner (independent).
Thursday 25th June
This morning we visit Le Jardin Agapanthe. This contemporary garden with strong structure and a profusion of plants is the work of owner and landscape architect, Alexandre Thomas.
Afterwards, we continue to the utterly charming Château de Miromesnil where we are hosted by the owners for lunch (included) then shown around their wonderful kitchen garden which contains many heritage varieties of fruit and vegetables.
In the afternoon we explore one of Normandy’s most iconic gardens, Le Bois des Moutiers, which represents a unique example of the British Arts & Crafts movement in France. We enjoy a tour of these wonderful gardens that surround the iconic house then return to Rouen for our final night dinner (included).
Friday 26th June
After check out we visit Le Jardin Plume, a contemporary, impressionist work-of-art, created in a former orchard. We meet the owner and enjoy a walk through the gardens.
Our final stop is Château de Vascœuil – a delightful, small château that houses a fine collection of modern art and garden sculpture. Here we have lunch (included) then return to Charles de Gaulle Airport to say our goodbyes. From here you can take the RER fast train into central Paris.

Cures Marines Hotel & Spa Trouville-sur-Mer (4 nights)
First discovered by the 19th century impressionists, Trouville-sur-Mer is an elegant coastal resort at the heart of the ‘Parisian Riviera’. The 5-star Cures Marines Hotel dates from 1912 but, today, the renovated neo-classical building offers chic, contemporary interiors, a spa, and a heated seawater pool. The hotel has two restaurants and is perfectly situated for a seafront walk or for exploring the fashionable town.
Hotel de Bourgtheroulde, Rouen (3 nights)
Located in the heart of historic Rouen, this is a luxurious 5-star hotel combining history and elegance. Housed in a 16th-century Renaissance building, it features 78 beautifully designed rooms blending classic architecture with contemporary décor. There is a luxurious spa with indoor pool, stylish bar and gourmet dining. All the main sights of the city including the historic square where Joan of Arc was martyred, Rouen Cathedral and the iconic astronomical clock are on the doorstep.
